I used to really hate Christmas decorations. But I think that was back when I thought they were all ugly since all I ever saw was tacky shit. Red and green crap and trinkets.
I think it's because my elementary school flute teacher, Debbie Pitoniak, used to decorate her house for every holiday. Seriously. Imagine coming for your lesson around Martin Luther King Day and seeing a little cardboard cutout of the man's face on her door. Or perhaps some plastic leaves scattered around on tabletops for Fall Season? Festive. Yeah, I got to see all of that. She also had the most hideous and ghetto ornament-stuffed Christmas tree I've ever seen in my life. I remember that I just couldn't stop staring...
These days I've been finding some sweet decorations. Like moss ornaments (the one above is moss and has a little hootie inside.. how perfect for me), terrarium ornaments, and awesome wreaths.
Christmas is cool again.
