Loving these ring designs by Cathy Waterman. They're so simple and beautiful.

Pricey though. :)

Vintage Clothing

Timeless Vixen on Etsy has some amazing vintage finds. I'd love if I was tiny and petite and could possibly fit into any of these items... would be fun.

Kitchen Wish List

I want a lot of kitchen gadgets. I've been re-building my cookware collection since an unfortunate incident happened a few years ago when I moved out of my first Denver apartment and left a couple cupboards full of stuff. (I forgot to pack them). I contacted the new tenant and he had promptly "given away" ALL of my stuff (mixing bowls, cookie sheets, wire racks, pots, pans, etc.). I'm still sad about my Williams Sonoma bowls. And I'm still a little pissed about that guy. He was a total ass on the phone.

So if I had a gift card to Sur La Table or Bed Bath and Beyond, I sure know what I'd get.

  • Ramekins. Like 10 of them. I just found this recipe for individual Bananas Fosters cakes and I need Ramekins. Plus I'm sure I'd use them for other things. Mmm like creme brulee.
  • Mesh Strainer. In the past 3 weeks, I have needed one of these several times. I only have a big pasta strainer and that doesn't work for things like quinoa and lentils.
  • Wok. I don't think I need an explanation for this. I just want one.
  • Cast Iron Skillet. I just learned that you can make Foccacia bread in one. Plus these things are heavy duty. It would last my whole life (assuming some tenant doesn't steal it!)
  • Cutting Boards. I always need more and mine seem to be on their last leg.
  • Le Creuset®. Anything by them, really.. but mostly a new casserole dish.
  • Large Food Processor. My mini one drives me nuts. Last night I wanted to throw it out the window. But that could be dangerous, so I held back. PS: This Viking one is f-ing amazing. Plus it's called a Viking. Bad ass.
  • Santoku knives. I have one of these. It's always getting used. But no wonder I have only one. This one is only $105. What a deal.

Ok. I better stop. Kitchen gadget overload. Basically I want everything. But some things are more essential than others and may require immediate purchase. Like the strainer. I think that shouldn't cost too much...

All images and kitchen lust provided by Sur La Table. Oh and they're having a sale now. Check it out kitchen lovers.

I can't wait...

...for my new sewing machine. DB says it's going to be a late Christmas present. :) I'm dying to start some projects. I just now found this project... a little late.. but I think I'll save it for next year! I really wanted to make stockings for everyone. But instead I used cloth bags.

This project is pretty time appropriate. I could start on it soon!

There are so many cool things on Purl Bee. Love it.

Paris

Winter in Paris doesn't look depressing at all.

Photos from The cherry blossom girl.

Winter Funk

I have a bit of a holiday hangover. Not from drinking... but I feel the post-Christmas depression coming on. It doesn't help that it's been freeeezing out and I have mass amounts of laundry and dirty dishes piling up in my the house. Somehow winter makes it hard for me to get motivated.

Maybe if I purge the fridge of all the old leftovers and cook up some healthy stuff, I'll feel better.

I'm hoping the new year will bring some motivation and a much needed fresh start.

But until then... here are some pretty winter flower arrangements from Design*Sponge.

Sketchy Santa

Omg. I had to do another Christmas post. I can't believe how creepy these are. And hilarious. Poor kids! I honestly don't think I ever really enjoyed going to sit on Santa's lap when I was little...

See more at Sketchy Santas.

Red and Green

Today's my Friday, so I'm not sure how much posting I'll be doing over the next few days.

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!

The Dawn of a New Decade

New Year's is one of those holidays that is really special to me... and not because of the mass amounts of drinking and partying and fireworks... but the whole "new year" thing really gets me excited and super motivated. I love the thought of starting over fresh and making new goals and resolutions. I think I've made resolutions every year since I was like 10. Nerdy, I know.

Even if I don't go out, I like to imagine what I could wear or how I could do my hair and makeup. One NYE, I was on a band trip.. Phoenix, I think... and I bought this sequined, pleated, gauzy black skirt from Express and I knew my mom thought I was nuts. It was like $120, but I had to have it. I still have it, but I don't think I've worn it since that night. Maybe I'll whip it out this year. :)

Enjoy these photos of dramatic makeup, sweet hairdos, glam jewelry, and New Year's fashion picks.

Jessica Helgerson Interior Design

I'm not really up on who's who in the interior design world, but I know I like this designer - Jessica Helgerson. A lot.

Love mixing the elements of a historic building with modern design. That's like my dream house - lots of character and detail, some antique pieces, but a modern-gourmet kitchen and new plumbing, and super modern accessories. :) My red KitchenAid mixer would look just fab in this kitchen. Oh and check out that lush velvet couch (third image down). It was custom made for the space so it could fit right in with the bay windows.

I'll add this to my growing wish list.

Vintage Textiles & Wearable Art

Another fabulous Etsy find. I wonder if I could pull off this sort of thing for my wedding. I think I'd go for the elaborate necklace rather than the cuff... but I love both.

Altitude Design Summit

I want to go to this It's all about design and blogging and photography and styling. Sigh. I need to get myself into a creative field someday so that my employer will pay for me to go. Or if I actually made money off my blog, then maybe I could afford to pay for this myself.

Plus one of my favorite bloggers of Oh Joy! will be speaking. I could really use some inspiration.

Maybe I'll get a good raise and I can take myself. Salt Lake City is within driving distance, right? Who wants to go with me? This could be a fun Sister trip...

Super Sweet Marriage Proposal

Illustrator Guy Shield came up with this brilliantly creative idea to propose to his girlfriend. He created a comic strip that looks normal as you read through, but when folded the right way spells out "Will you marry me?"

Such a cool idea. This guy is super talented. Read more on Guy's blog.
